I had an amazing opportunity to photograph a litter of 18 day old Newfoundland puppies this past week.  What could be better than a couple of hours spent with squishy, lovey, incredibly sweet babies!  I’ve been lucky enough to photograph several of Annisquam Light’s Newfoundland litters but always when they were quite a bit older.   I really wanted to capture the “newborn” stage and their breeder, the amazing Sheri Russell, graciously granted me permission to come out and photograph these pups.  SO MUCH FUN!  These pups were super models, especially Miss Kate – she was working it.  And the images, ohhhhhh, are they gorgeous (this isn’t helping my puppy fever at all….).  I look forward to photographing them again in a few weeks and hope everyone enjoys the images as much as I enjoyed creating them.

A handsome Poodle and a Castle…..

What an amazing portrait session last Monday with Rooney, an absolutely stunning Standard Poodle who was retiring from the show ring to start a family :-).   We chose Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA as a suitable setting for this most regal dog.  What a fun session, we had great weather and the location was gorgeous.  I’ve shared the images with my client, so I thought I would share a couple here with you.

Mother Nature isn’t quite done with us yet….

I guess it was just wishful thinking that our clocks springing forward meant spring was really here.  After some gorgeous days to tease us, winter is back with a vengeance.  Not that our pups mind a bit of a blizzard, for them it means a snow day for their humans (the lucky ones at least) with lots of romping in the snow and cuddling indoors after.  For a photographer, it means one more chance for portraits in beautiful snowy landscapes.  While I don’t plan to be out shooting tomorrow, I’m not that crazy :-). I do have availability for sessions later in the week (and with the snow totals they’re predicting, I think the snow will be with us at least that long).  Contact me to set up a session today!

Stay safe tomorrow,  have fun with your pups and hopefully spring really is just around the corner.

Winter wonderland portrait sessions

Ahhh,  you have to love New England in winter.  Last week we had a foot of fresh white snow on the ground which provided a gorgeous backdrop for portrait sessions.  And today we enjoyed a sunny 65 degree day and the snow has mostly disappeared.  Who knows what next week will bring?  I think Mother Nature may have a few more surprises for us before Spring really arrives.  A couple of favorites from last week’s winter session
