From rescued street dog to certified beach babe, meet Arya!

When Justin and Laurel adopted Arya from Small Dog Rescue New England she came to them a little scrawny and a whole lot sweet. When she was found wandering the streets of Charlestown, and she had absolutely no idea that she was about to become (by her owners’ own admission) fancier than both of them combined. 😄

Arya is a cozy-loving, treat-motivated, slightly sassy girl who takes in new adventures with curiosity and just a touch of caution. Honestly? Same. It also made her a wonderful subject for a golden-hour session at one of my all-time favorite spots: Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester.

We got this session in just before the beach closed to dogs for the season, and I’m so glad we did. Wingaersheek has the most beautiful evening light, with wide open tidal flats, gentle dunes, and that classic New England coastline feel. Arya warmed up so beautifully as the session went on, and by the end she was totally in her element.

Justin and Laurel are planning on turning their favorites into wall art. I just know Arya is going to look incredible on their walls.
